NSDC International signs MoU with IDP India for IELTS certification of ‘exportable’ skilled workers

NSDC International Limited (NSDCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has entered into a strategic partnership with IDP India, the sole distributor of IELTS examination in India, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to enhance the global employability of skilled Indian professionals by bridging critical gaps in skills and language proficiency. It will also benefit professionals across sectors such as healthcare, information technology, engineering, hospitality, among others.

Under this partnership, NSDC International and IDP India will jointly implement a robust learning and testing ecosystem, integrating state-of-the-art digital tools, online and offline training modules, and customised programmes. Over the next two years, the programme aims to benefit at least 75,000 skilled professionals, with 20,000 participants expected to attain IELTS certification.

The initiative will combine NSDC International’s expertise in skill and vocational training with IDP’s proficiency in English language assessment to deliver tailored programmes and certifications aligned with global employability standards. Through its testing partner, Planet Edu Exams Pvt Ltd., IDP India will develop integrated English language proficiency training programmes designed to prepare candidates for the demands of international employers. Participants will gain access to advanced digital resources and customised IELTS training modules to enhance their readiness for competitive global job markets. The unique IELTS Star framework will assess individual learning needs, offer targeted support, and monitor progress, ensuring participants are well-equipped for the competitive international job market.

The agreement was signed by Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO NSDC & MD NSDC International, and Piyush Kumar, Regional Director, South Asia, Canada, and Latin America (LATAM), IDP Education. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to empowering Indian job seekers and professionals with the tools they need to achieve their aspirations on a global stage.

Commenting on this partnership, Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO NSDC & MD NSDC International stated: “ By combining our strengths, we are committed to creating tailored pathways that enhance employability and open doors to international opportunities.“ 

Talking about the collaboration, Piyush Kumar, Regional Director, South Asia, Canada, and Latin America (LATAM), IDP Education, said, “ By combining NSDC International’s expertise in skill development with IDP’s proficiency in English language assessment, we aim to address gaps through tailored training programmes and certifications. Initiatives like this will equip professionals with the right skills to excel in competitive global markets, strengthening India’s position as a leading global talent hub”.

 The MoU was signed in the presence of Alok Kumar, CEO NSDC International; Ajay Raina, COO, NSDC International; Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Advisor, NSDC & NSDC International; Inderpreet Singh, Director India IELTS Operations & South Asia Regional Lead, IDP Education; Sanjay Malaviya, Founder, Planet EDU; and Japdeep Singh Ghuman, Associate Director – North Zone & Institutional/Government Partnerships, IDP Education.
