Mumbai-based education publisher, Target Publications, in an effort to nurturing the young minds of India by empowering educators with forward-thinking, child-centered approaches recently conducted an engaging workshop for Balwadi teachers of Save the Children India (Vipla Foundation) on the theme of ‘Holistic Learning of Kids’. The initiative aligns with Target Publications’ commitment to nurturing the young minds of India by empowering educators with forward-thinking, child-centered approaches.

The workshop was spearheaded by Mr. Sachin Kodolikar, Executive Director of Target Publications Pvt. Ltd, who underscored the importance of teaching practices that go beyond academics. “Education is not just about filling minds with knowledge; it’s about shaping well-rounded individuals who can think critically, empathize, and contribute positively to society,” said Kodolikar. “At Target, we believe in empowering teachers to create learning environments where children develop essential life skills alongside academic excellence, as envisioned in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.”

Kodolikar engaged with the 40 Balwadi teachers in interactive discussions and hands-on activities, encouraging them to foster skills like communication, empathy, and mutual respect in their students. He also highlighted the role of teachers in counselling parents, emphasizing that learning must extend beyond the classroom and into the home environment.

One of the session’s highlights was when the teachers reflected on how they would like their students to remember them, sharing touching stories from their years of service with Vipla Foundation, some spanning over 35 years.

Samiksha Mayekar, Coordinator of Vipla Foundation, shared her enthusiasm about the session, saying, “The workshop was truly inspiring. We saw a renewed energy in our teachers, and I’m confident they’ve taken away practical strategies to enrich their teaching methods. We look forward to more such collaborations with Target Publications.”
