The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) on July 24 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Lalit Suri Hospitality School (TLSHS) to enhance industry-aligned training and certification. Reaffirming their shared commitment to skill development and employability in India’s growing tourism and hospitality sector, the two partners said this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering India’s youth through structured, industry-aligned skilling programs, with a focus on inclusivity, employability and excellence in hospitality education.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, and Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC. The event was graced by Ms. Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, THSC; Mr. Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group; Mr. Anupam Mukherjee, Dean, TLSHS and senior officials from both organisations.
Commenting on the tie-up Dr. Jyotsna Suri remarked, “This partnership is a meaningful step towards bridging the gap between education and industry needs. At The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, we believe in preparing young professionals who are not just strong in theory but also ready for real-world challenges in hospitality. Skilling is a key part of that effort. By working with THSC, we aim to equip the youth with practical, globally-relevant skills that open up numerous career opportunities.” This MoU marks an important milestone in aligning academic training with real-world hospitality needs, thereby fostering a skilled, job-ready, and globally competitive workforce for the Indian service sector.
Ms. Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson of THSC, stated, ” Such partnerships are the backbone of a strong, demand-driven skilling ecosystem that responds to real industry needs and unlocks true potential among India’s youth—especially in tourism, one of the most people-centric sectors.”
Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC, emphasized, “The hospitality sector is evolving rapidly, and so must our approach to workforce development. With institutions like TLSHS we can ensure that students receive not only domain knowledge but also industry-relevant exposure, life skills, and certification. We are confident that this initiative will help create a future-ready workforce aligned with the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism ecosystem.”
