Nagaland University Scholars Shine at International Chemistry Conference

A team of research scholars from the Department of Chemistry, Nagaland University, Lumami, achieved significant recognition at the National Convention of Chemistry Teachers & International Conference on Current Advances in Chemical Science Research and Education, held on November 6-9, 2024 at Mizoram University, Mizoram.

The event witnessed participation from renowned academicians and researchers from across the country, offering a platform to showcase cutting-edge research. Scholars from Nagaland University stood out with their exceptional contributions, earning accolades in key categories. Suraj Kumar and Tsathrongla Sangtam received the Best Oral Presentation Award, while Priyakshi Bora received the Best Poster Award.

The awardees were presented with cash prizes and a one-year Complimentary Affiliate Membership sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry (United Kingdom).

While congratulating the research scholars for their meritorious performance, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. J.K. Patnaik, reaffirmed institutional support for the scholars of the university to enable them to pursue their research with full academic rigor.

Meanwhile, Prof. Upasana Bora Sinha, Head of the Department of Chemistry, also expressed pride in the scholars’ achievements, stating that their success underscores the department’s dedication to excellence in research.

The scholars extended their heartfelt gratitude to the university and their supervisors for their unwavering guidance and support.
