Toyota Hackathon 2019- Bangalore Edition,  a state-level 36-hour Hackathon for the school students of Karnataka to develop implementable solutions by utilizing the intellect and ideation capabilities of the students to reduce the frequency and impact of road accidents in India concluded on Nov 26  with Siddhant Attavar and Shreyas Viswanath of the National Public School, Indiranagar securing the top position for
their prototype mobile application, Driver safe, which can monitor rash driving. They were followed by Nobel Jaison and Jaanavi H from St. Joseph Boys High School as the first runner up and  Dennis Philip and Tarun Narashiman as the second runners up. Top 50 teams from across the state competed for bringing out the best technological innovation to supplement road safety and save lives.

In all 1400 students and 54 schools participated. Amit Kumar Saroha, Paralympian, Asian Para Games medalist, and an Arjuna Awardee was the chief guest. C Mallikarjun, Joint Transport Commissioner, Government of Karnataka; Gopalkrishna Goudar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bangalore; Tanuja Ganu, RSDE Lead at Microsoft India’s new center for Societal impact through Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (SCAI); Prasanna Banavara, Technical Platform Program Manager in Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.; Shreekrishna Bhat, Senior Technical Director, National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also graced the event.

The hackathon was organized by Indian Road Safety Campaign at RV College of Engineering Bangalore for School Students of Karnataka,
