Acharya Bangalore B-School attains Autonomous Status in 2024, Affiliated to Bangalore University

Acharya Bangalore B-School (ABBS), a distinguished institution in the realm of education, established in Andrahalli, Bengaluru, in 2008, has been granted autonomous status, a commendation approved by Bangalore University. This recognition is effective from the academic year 2024, marking a significant milestone in ABBS’s journey towards academic excellence, innovation, and high-quality education. The status is valid for a period of 10 years from the academic year 2023-24 to 2033-34 as per clause 7.5 of the UGC (Conferment of Autonomous Status Upon Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023.

Speaking on the achievement, Venkat Ajitesh Reddy Basani, Executive Director, Acharya Bangalore B-School, expressed that, “Receiving autonomous status is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. It marks a new chapter in our pursuit of academic innovation and excellence. We are proud to contribute meaningfully to the education landscape. The journey to autonomy reflects our unwavering commitment to academic distinction. We are poised to elevate our educational offerings, aligning them with the evolving needs of the industry.”

In 2012, ABBS achieved its first cycle of NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation, setting the stage for continuous improvement and excellence. Subsequent years witnessed a series of achievements, including UGC 2f recognition in 2014, NBA accreditation for the MBA Department (2014-2016), and International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) accreditation in 2015.

The institution’s commitment to quality education received further acknowledgment with UGC 12B recognition in 2017 and the second cycle of NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation in 2016. The MBA Department continued to excel with the second cycle of NBA Accreditation for the years 2019-21.

In 2023, ABBS reached another pinnacle with the third cycle of NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation, solidifying its reputation for academic excellence and institutional quality. Building on this momentum, the University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred Autonomous status upon Acharya Bangalore B-School in 2023.

The remarkable journey continues in 2024, building on the UGC’s recognition, Bangalore University has officially approved autonomous status for Acharya Bangalore B-School, underscoring its autonomy in academic and administrative matters.

With this newfound autonomy, Acharya Bangalore B-School aims to further elevate its academic offerings, research endeavours, and industry collaborations, solidifying its position as a leader in management education. The institution, remains steadfast in its mission to nurture leaders and entrepreneurs, and the autonomous status underscores its dedication to provide a dynamic and future-ready educational experience.
